Mandiri Coal Annual Report 2022

The mining landscape is a beast of constant motion. Documenting Mandiri Coal for their 2022 Annual Report with HIRA meant stepping into that rhythm and, at times, demanding it stand still. We traveled by every means possible—land, air, and water—to reach the heart of the operation. The challenge was logistical as much as it was creative. To capture the scale, we had to pause the pulse of the site, orchestrating massive dump trucks like actors on a stage. It was a process of finding the human scale and the aesthetic intent within a world of heavy steel and dust.
